At present when the console is rotated 180 degrees it starts almost a
whole character to the left of the right edge (typically 7 pixels with
an 8-pixel-wide font). On a display which aligns with the font width,
this just wastes space. On a display that does not this can result in
x_frac going negative for the final character (the one on the left
side) and the overflow -EAGAIN check at the start of the function
failing.
Change the function to start at the rightmost pixel to fix these
problems.

The current set method is broken; a simple test case is to first set
the date to something in April, then change the date to 31st May:

The problem is that after each register write,
sandbox_i2c_rtc_complete_write() gets called and sets the internal
time from the current set of registers. However, when we get to
writing 31 to mday, the registers are in an inconsistent state (mon is
still 4), so the mktime machinery ends up translating April 31st to
May 1st. Upon the next register write, the registers are populated by
sandbox_i2c_rtc_prepare_read(), so the 31 we just wrote to mday gets
overwritten by a 1.
Fix it by writing all registers at once, and for consistency, update
the get method to retrieve them all with one "i2c transfer".

dm_gpio_lookup_name() searches for a gpio through
the bank name. But we have also gpio labels, and it
makes sense to search for a gpio also in the labels
we have defined, if no gpio is found through the
bank name definition.
This is useful for example if you have a wp pin on
different gpios on different board versions.
If dm_gpio_lookup_name() searches also for the gpio labels,
you can give the gpio an unique label name and search
for this label, and do not need to differ between
board revisions.

Renamed dm "drivers" subcommand to "compat" (as it listed
compatibility strings) and prevent it from segfaulting when
drivers have no of_match populated.
Added a new "drivers" subcommand to dump a list of all known DM
drivers and for each, their uclass id, uclass driver and names of

A time authenticated variable cannot be overwritten with another value
with the same time stamp. So we must ensure the correct sequence of time
stamps when generating out test data.
Using parameter -t for sign-efi-sig-list gives reproducible results and
avoids sleep statements.

This patch adds a generic reset driver. It is designed to be useful when
one has a register in a regmap which contains bits that reset other
devices. I thought this seemed like a very generic use, so here is a
generic driver. The overall structure has been modeled on the syscon-reboot
driver.

This type of bus is used in Linux to designate buses which have power
domains and/or clocks which need to be enabled before their child devices
can be used. Because power domains are automatically enabled before probing
in U-Boot, we just need to enable any clocks present.

This pll code is primarily based on the code from the kendryte standalone
sdk in lib/drivers/sysctl.c. k210_pll_calc_config is roughly analogous to
the algorithm used to set the pll frequency, but it has been completely
rewritten to be fixed-point based.

test_efi_fit tests fail on RISC-V currently. This is due to the
RISC-V arch_fixup_fdt() checks the #size-cells of the root node
in order to correctly fix up the reserved memory node.
Per the DT binding, the /reserved-memory node requires both
<#address-cells> and <#size-cells> and they should use the same
values as the root node. For the root node, it's not very useful
if <#size-cells> is zero.
Update #size-cells to 1 so tests can pass.

This change allows more fine tuning of driver model based SPI support in
SPL and TPL. It is now possible to explicitly enable/disable the DM_SPI
support in SPL and TPL via Kconfig option.
Before this change it was necessary to use:

The goal of this patch:
Provide distinction for DM_SPI support in both U-Boot proper and SPL (TPL).
Valid use case is when U-Boot proper wants to use DM_SPI, but SPL must
still support non DM driver.
Another use case is the conversion of non DM/DTS SPI driver to support
DM/DTS. When such driver needs to work in both SPL and U-Boot proper, the
distinction is needed in Kconfig (also if SPL version of the driver
supports OF_PLATDATA).
In the end of the day one would have to support following use cases (in
single driver file - e.g. mxs_spi.c):
- U-Boot proper driver supporting DT/DTS
- U-Boot proper driver without DT/DTS support (deprecated)
- SPL driver without DT/DTS support
- SPL (and TPL) driver with DT/DTS (when the SoC has enough resources to
run full blown DT/DTS)
- SPL driver with DT/DTS and SPL_OF_PLATDATA (when one have constrained
environment with no fitImage and OF_LIBFDT support).
Some boards do require SPI support (with DM) in SPL (TPL) and some only
have DM_SPI{_FLASH} defined to allow compiling SPL.
This patch converts #ifdef CONFIG_DM_SPI* to #if CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(DM_SPI)
and provides corresponding defines in Kconfig.

If there are aliases for an uclass, set the base for the "dynamically"
allocated numbers next to the highest alias.
Please note, that this might lead to holes in the sequences, depending
on the device tree. For example if there is only an alias "ethernet1",
the next device seq number would be 2.
In particular this fixes a problem with boards which are using ethernet
aliases but also might have network add-in cards like the E1000. If the
board is started with the add-in card and depending on the order of the
drivers, the E1000 might occupy the first ethernet device and mess up
all the hardware addresses, because the devices are now shifted by one.
Also adapt the test cases to the new handling and add test cases
checking the holes in the seq numbers.

It is possible to specify a device tree node for an USB device. This is
useful if you have a static USB setup and want to use aliases which
point to these nodes, like on the Raspberry Pi.
The nodes are matched against their hub port number, the compatible
strings are not matched for now.

The get_sw_write_prot API is used to get the write-protected
bits of flash by reading the status register and other wards
it's API for reading register bits.
1) This kind of requirement can be achieved using existing
flash operations and flash locking API calls instead of
making a separate flash API.
2) Technically there is no real hardware user for this API to
use in the source tree.
3) Having a flash operations API for simple register read bits
also make difficult to extend the flash operations.
4) Instead of touching generic code, it is possible to have
this functionality inside spinor operations in the form of
flash hooks or fixups for associated flash chips.
Considering all these points, this patch drops the get_sw_write_prot
and associated code bases.

This patch contains test/nokia_rx51_test.sh script which automatically
download and compile all needed tools in local temporary directory to
generate a simple MTD images for booting Maemo kernel image by U-Boot from
RAM, eMMC and OneNAND. MTD images are then run in virtual n900 machine
provided by qemu-linaro project.
This script does not need any special privileges, so it can be run as
non-root nobody user.
It can be used to check that U-Boot for Nokia N900 is not broken and can be
successfully booted in emulator.
Script is registered to .azure-pipelines.yml, .gitlab-ci.yml and
.travis.yml so it would be automatically run on those CI services.

We should not use typedefs in U-Boot. They cannot be used as forward
declarations which means that header files must include the full header to
access them.
Drop the typedef and rename the struct to remove the _s suffix which is
now not useful.
This requires quite a few header-file additions.

Both the nolog as well as the syslog tests were not found by Python
function generate_ut_subtest() due to not following the nameing
requirements imposed by the regular expression used to find linker
generated list entries in file u-boot.sym.
Adjust the naming of test functions.
With the patch the following tests are executed successfully for

When setting up the console via function efi_console_register() we call
query_console_serial(). This functions sends an escape sequence to the
terminal to query the display size. The response is another escape
sequence.
console.run_command_list() is looking for a regular expression '^==>'.
If the escape sequence for the screen size precedes the prompt without a
line break, no match is found.
When efi_disk_register() is called before efi_console_register() this leads
to a test failuere of the UEFI secure boot tests.
We can avoid the problem if the first UEFI command passed to
u_boot_console.run_command_list() produces output. This patch achieves this
by appending '; echo' to the first UEFI related command of the problematic
tests.

We always write three basic tables to ACPI at the start. Move this into
its own function, along with acpi_fill_header(), so we can write a test
for this code.

The current code uses an address but a pointer would result in fewer
casts. Also it repeats the alignment code in a lot of places so this would
be better done in a helper function.
Update write_acpi_tables() to make use of the new acpi_ctx structure,
adding a few helpers to clean things up.

If udisksctl is present
test/py/tests/test_efi_secboot/conftest.py
fails because the disk image is never mounted.
Normal users can only mount fuse file systems. Unfortunately fusefat is
still in an experimental state and seems not to work here correctly.
So as we have to be root or use the sudo command anyway delete all coding
referring to udisksctl.

We should not use mount point /mnt as this directory or one of its
sub-directories might already be in use as active mount points. Instead
create a new directory in the build root as mount point.

Remove debug print statements that have been commented out. print without
parentheses is anyway invalid in Python 3. And pytest anyway filters out
the output if there is no exception reported.

The ops only provided in one driver (mpc8xxx gpio) and the

At present a device can read its ofdata before its parent has done the
same. This can cause problems in the case where the parent has a 'ranges'
property, thus affecting the operation of dev_read_addr(), for example.
We already probe parent devices before children so it does not seem to be
a large step to do the same with ofdata.

Use the new function dm_scan_fdt_ofnode_path() to scan all the nodes
which aren't devices themselves but may contain some:
- "/chosen"
- "/clocks"
- "/firmware"
The patch removes the strcmp call in recursive function dm_scan_fdt_live()
and also corrects a conflict with the 2 applied patches in
the commit 1712ca2192 ("dm: core: Scan /firmware node by default")
and in the commit 747558d014 ("dm: fdt: scan for devices under
/firmware too"): the subnodes of "/firmware" (optee for example)
are bound 2 times.

single function so we can keep them consistent and easily see what
versions are supported.
Start a new acpi_table file in a generic directory to house this function.

clock speed in order to make decision what to pass to OS in some

A fixture for UEFI secure boot tests (image authentication and variable
authentication) is defined. A small file system with test data in a single
partition formatted in fat is created.
This test requires efitools v1.5.2 or later. If the system's efitools
is older, you have to build it on your own and define EFITOOLS_PATH.

Pull in changes that have been pending in our 'next' branch. This

- A large number of CI improvements including moving to gcc-9.2 for all
platforms.
- amlogic, xilinx, stm32, TI SoC updates
- USB and i2c subsystem updtaes
- Re-sync Kbuild/etc logic with v4.19 of the Linux kernel.
- RSA key handling improvements
It is a pain to have to set the CROSS_COMPILE environment variable when
using test.py's --build option. It is possible to get this using the -A
option from buildman. But it seems better to just use buildman to do the
build when it is available.
However using buildman adds a new dependency to the test system which we
want to avoid. So leave the default as is and add a flag to make it use
buildman.
Note that most of these changes relate to test.py and the parts of the
travis/gitlab/azure scripts which relate to running test and building a
suitable U-Boot to run the tests on.

This test is actually made up of five separate tests. Split them out so
that they appear as separate tests.
Unfortunately this restarts U-Boot multiple times which adds about a
second to the already-long vboot test, about 8 seconds total on my
machine. We could add a special 'teardown' test afterwards but if the
tests are executed out of order that would not work.
Changing test_vboot into a class causes it not to be discovered and makes
it different from all other tests.

In the first version, the result of malloc is checked
with ut_assertnonnull. But on a fail, this macro exit
the function, so previously malloc are not freed.
So to avoid a memleak, we don't use ut_assertnonnull,
but simply check the return of malloc. If one has failed,
we freed all the allocated memory and quit the function.

At present driver model supports the IRQ uclass but there is no way to
request a particular interrupt for a driver.
Add a mechanism, similar to clock and reset, to read the interrupts
required by a device from the device tree and to request those interrupts.
U-Boot itself does not have interrupt-driven handlers, so just provide a
means to read and clear an interrupt. This can be useful to handle
peripherals which must use an interrupt to determine when data is
available, for example.
Bring over the basic binding file as well, from Linux v5.4. Note that the
older binding is not supported in U-Boot; the newer 'special form' must be
used.
Add a simple test of the new functionality.

There can be different types of interrupt controllers in a system and some
drivers may need to distinguish between these. In general this can be
handled using the device tree by adding the interrupt information to
device nodes.
However on x86 devices we have interrupt controllers which are not tied
to any particular device and not really used in U-Boot. These still need
to be inited, so a convenient method is to give each controller a type
and allow a particular controller type to be probed.
Add support for this in sandbox along with a test.

It is sometimes useful to find a device in a uclass using only its driver
data. The driver data often indicates the 'subtype' of the device, e,g,
via its compatible string.
Add a function to handle this.

At present we have uclass_foreach_dev() which requires that uclass_get()
be called beforehand to find the uclass. This is good if we suspect that
that function might fail, but often we know that the uclass is available.
Add a new helper which does this uclass_get() automatically, so that only
the uclass ID is needed.

At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.
Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

At present devres.h is included in all files that include dm.h but few
make use of it. Also this pulls in linux/compat which adds several more
headers. Drop the automatic inclusion and require files to include devres
themselves. This provides a good indication of which files use devres.

At present there is no positive indication that U-Boot has finished
sending sound data. This means that it is not possible to power down an
audio codec, for example. Add a new method that is called once all sound
data has been sent.
Add a new method for this, called when the sound_play() call is done.

When writing tests to check the output from commands it is useful to be
able to check the output line by line using an assertion. Add helper
macros to support this and to check that there is no unexpected trailing
data.
Also some commands produce a dump using print_buffer(). Add a way to check
that the correct number of bytes are dumped (ignoring the actual
contents).

At present we reset the console buffer before each test but do not
actually set the recording flag. Without this, the output is not
recorded.
Update the code to set the flag before the test and clear it afterwards.

It is convenient for bloblist to zero out the contents of a records when
it is added. This saves the callers having to do it.

This function is actually intended to read a string rather than a
property. All of its current callers use it that way. Also there is no way
to return the length of the property from this function.
Rename it to better indicate its purpose, using ofnode_read as the prefix
since this matches most other functions.
Also add some tests which are missing for these functions.

Per sandbox_cs_info(), sandbox spi controller only supports chip
select 0. Current test case tries to locate devices on chip select
1, and any call to spi_get_bus_and_cs() or spi_cs_info() with cs
number 1 should not return 0.
This updates the test case to handle it correctly.

In the function cmd_ut_category, the prefix is used with
the function strncmp to know if the prefix should be
removed from the test name, even if the prefix is NULL.
To avoid this issue, we consider that a prefix NULL
mean no prefix. So we only try to remove the prefix
from the test_name if the prefix is not NULL, then
we avoid to call the function strncmp with a NULL
prefix.

The malloc() implementations provides a way of finding out the approximate
amount of memory that is allocated. Add helper functions to make it easier
to access this and see changes over time. This is useful for tests that
want to check if memory has been allocated or freed.

There is black magic in the file conftest.py that list
all the test unit. Then, all those test unit are called
in pytest. This call is done with the end of the name
(for example checksum if the full name is bloblist_test_checksum).
The result is that only test for dm are really executed.
by pytest, all others tests are listed but never executed.
This behaviour happens because the dm test unit only check
the end of the name and others tests checks the full name.
To fix this issue, I've added a prefix to the function
cmd_ut_category, and this prefix is removed when looking
for the unit test.

an elf64/elf32 image, and if found, copies it to device memory.

get_env() was originally written to strip() the output of printenv to
isolate the test from any whitespace changes in printenv's output.
However, this throws away any whitespace in the variable value, which can
cause issues when test code expects to see that whitespace. In fact,
printenv never adds any whitespace at all, so there's no need to strip.
The strip causes a practical problem for test_env_echo_exists() if
state_test_env.get_existent_var() happens to choose a U-Boot variable that
contains trailing whitespace. This is true for variable boot_targets.
With Python 2, get_existent_var() never returned boot_targets so this
issue never caused a practical problem.
With Python 3, get_existent_var does sometimes return boot_targets, no
doubt due to Python 3's different dict hash key order implementation,
about 0.5-2% of the time, so this test appears intermittent. With the
strip removed, this intermittency is solved, since the test passes for all
possible U-Boot variables.

OP-TEE can get supplied with a devicetree and will then insert
its firmware node and reserved-memory sections into it.
As this devicetree often is not the one supplied to a later
loaded kernel, a previous commit added functionality to transfer
these nodes onto that new devicetree.
To make sure this functionality stays intact, also add a test
for the transfer functionality.

On x86 platforms the SPI flash can be mapped into memory so that the
contents can be read with normal memory accesses.
Add a new SPI method to find the location of the SPI flash in memory. This
differs from the existing device-tree "memory-map" mechanism in that the
location can be discovered at run-time.

We have two further uses of raw string usage in the test/py codebase
that are used under CI. The first of which is under the bind test and
is a direct update. The second of which is to strip VT100 codes from
the match buffer. While switching this to a raw string is also a direct
update, the comment it notes that problems were encountered on Ubuntu
14.04 (and whatever Python 2 version that was) that required slight
tweaks to the regex. Replace that now that we're saying Python 3.5 is
the minimum.

Now that we have moved to being based on pytest for python3 we need to
make our test.py wrapper more robust in terms of only calling python3
rather than possibly finding and using python2. To do this, change from
execvp()'ing pytest to invoking the package itself via python. In the
event that pytest is unavailable we still get a user-friendly error:

The check_output function from the subprocess Python module by default

- In python 3 you must use raw strings for regex as other forms are
deprecated and would require further changes to the pattern here.
In one case this lets us have a simpler match pattern.
- As strings are now Unicode our complex tests (Euro symbol,
SHIFT+ALT+FN 5) we need to declare that as a bytes string and then
decode it for use.

- ConfigParser.readfp(...) is now configparser.read_file(...)
- As part of the "strings vs bytes" conversions in Python 3, we use the

replace problematic conversions rather than throw a fatal error.
- Fix a typo noticed while doing the above ("tot he" -> "to the").

We inconsistently note multiple dependencies today in our tests,
sometimes with a single line that declares multiple and sometimes
multiple single lines. Current pytest seems to fail on the single line
format so change to multiple declarations.

The test did reads after writes but didn't check the value.
It probably was because the sandbox didn't implement the writeX/readX
functions.

At present the 'Index' column of 'dm tree' assumes there is
two digits, this patch increase it to 3 digits.
It also aligns output of 'dm uclass', assuming the same 3 digits index.
The boards with CONFIG_PINCTRL_FULL activated have one pinconfig
by pin configuration, so they can have more than 100 devices
pinconfig (for example with stm32mp157c-ev1 board we have
106 pinconfig node).

Display Serial Interface (DSI) host can usefully be modelled
as their own uclass.
DSI defines a serial bus and a communication protocol
between the host and the device (panel, bridge).

Introduce rproc_elf_get_boot_addr() that returns the entry point of
the elf file. This api auto detects the 64/32 bit elf file and returns
the boot addr accordingly.

rproc_elf32_load_image() rely on user to send a valid address for elf loading.
Instead do a sanity check on the address passed by user. This will help
all rproc elf users to not call sanity_check explicitly before calling
elf_loading.

At present PCI address transaction is not supported so drivers must
manually read the correct BAR after reading the device tree info. The
ns16550 has a suitable implementation, so move this code into the core
DM support.
Note that there is no live-tree equivalent at present.

This function returns -ENODEV when there is no device. This is
inconsistent with other functions, such as uclass_find_next_device(),
which returns 0.
Update it and tidy up the incorrect '-1' values in the comments.

At present tests that are marked as only for livetree fail when executed
on sandbox_flattree. They cannot actually be executed, but we should not
resport them as 'not found', since this causes errors. Instead, they
should be silently skipped.

At present when multiple 'ut dm' commands are executed, all but the first
is run with a flat tree, even if live tree is enabled. This is because the
live tree node pointer is set to NULL and never restored.
This does not affect normal test running, which just runs all the test in
one go, but can be confusing when several individual tests are run during
the same U-Boot run.
Correct this by restoring the pointer.

Since we added clk enable_count and prograte clk child enabling
operation to clk parent, so add a new function sandbox_clk_enable_count
to get enable_count for test usage.
And add test code to get the enable_count after we enable/disable
the device clk.

both memory and random command dependencies just in case that dependency is
not properly handled by Kconfig.
