Make use of "IMAGE_MAX_SIZE" and "IMAGE_TEXT_BASE" rather than
CONFIG_SPL_MAX_SIZE and CONFIG_SPL_TEXT_BASE. This lets us re-use the
same script for both SPL and TPL. Add logic to scripts/Makefile.spl to
pass in the right value when preprocessing the script.

The interruption support had be removed for ARM architecture and
the function get_timer_masked() is no more used except in some
the timer.c files.
This patch clean each timer.c which implement this function and
remove the associated prototype in u-boot-arm.h
For timer.c, I don't verify if the weak version of get_timer
(in lib/time.c) can be used

There are multiple GPIOs that can be used with the same driver depending
on the CONFIG_GPIO_BASE defined in the controller driver.
GPIO3 and 4 require a clock to be enabled so let's enable them when the
driver is built.

Four different boards had different options for enabling cache
that were virtually all the same. This consolidates these
common functions into arch/arm/cpu/arm926ejs/cache.c
This also has the positive side-effect of enabling cache on
the Davinci (da850) boards.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

In order that we can use eth_env_* even when CONFIG_NET isn't set, move
these functions to environment code from net code.
This fixes failures such as:
board/ti/am335x/built-in.o: In function `board_late_init':
board/ti/am335x/board.c:752: undefined reference to `eth_env_set_enetaddr'
u-boot/board/ti/am335x/board.c:766: undefined reference to `eth_env_set_enetaddr'
which caters for use cases such as:
commit f411b5cca4 ("board: am335x: Always set eth/eth1addr environment
variable")
when Ethernet is required in Linux, but not U-Boot.

do_switch_ecc() calls fsmc_nand_switch_ecc(), which is a direct
function call into drivers/mtd/nand/fsmc_nand.c. However, this
function is not guarded by CONFIG_NAND_FSMC, which results to a build
failure if CONFIG_NAND_FSMC is disabled.

The code in board/spear/common/ is not board-specific but
SoC-specific. Therefore, boards from other vendors than "spear" may
want to re-use this code, which is currently difficult with the code
being placed in board/spear/common/.
Since this code really is SoC-specific, this commit moves it to
arch/arm/cpu/arm926ejs/spear/, with the rest of the SPEAr related
code.

This patch adds the "nandecc" command to switch between the SPEAr600 internal
1-bit HW ECC and the 4-bit SW BCH4 ECC. This can be needed to support NAND
chips with a stronger ECC than 1-bit, as on the x600. And to dynamically
switch between both ECC schemes for backwards compatibility.

The designware ethernet driver supports d-cache now. So there is nothing
stopping us now to enable the caches completely on SPEAr.

The SPL implementation for SPEAr600 is older than the common SPL
infrastructure. This patch now moves the SPEAr600 SPL over to the
common SPL code.
Tested on the only SPEAr board that currently uses SPL in mainline
U-Boot, the x600.

In preparation for the SoCFPGA support of the designware I2C driver,
convert this driver to the common CONFIG_SYS_I2C framework.
This patch converts all users of this driver, this is:
- ST spearxxx boards
- AXS101 (ARC700 platform)
I couldn't test this patch on those boards. Only compile tested for all
spear boards. And tested on SoCFPGA.

Exception handling is basically identical for all ARM targets.
Factorize it out of the various start.S files and into a
single vectors.S file, and adjust linker scripts accordingly.

Current LDS files /DISCARD/ a lot of sections when linking ELF
files, causing diagnostic tools such as readelf or objdump to
produce partial output. Keep all section at link stage, filter
only at objcopy time so that .bin remains minimal.

Note: this touches include/asm-generic/sections.h, which
is not ARM-specific, but actual uses of __dynsym_start

'bool' is defined in random places. This patch consolidates them into a
single header file include/linux/types.h, using stdbool.h introduced in C99.
All other #define, typedef and enum are removed. They are all consistent with
true = 1, false = 0.
Replace FALSE, False with false. Replace TRUE, True with true.
Skip *.py, *.php, lib/* files.

Albert's rework of the linker scripts conflicted with Simon's making
everyone use __bss_end. We also had a minor conflict over
README.scrapyard being added to in mainline and enhanced in
u-boot-arm/master with proper formatting.

Note this is a tree-wide change affecting multiple architectures.
At present we use __bss_start, but mostly __bss_end__. This seems
inconsistent and in a number of places __bss_end is used instead.
Change to use __bss_end for the BSS end symbol throughout U-Boot. This
makes it possible to use the asm-generic/sections.h file on all
archs.

Many SPL linker scripts needlessly include linker lists (aka LGAs).
Remove them whenever possible; keep it only in the seven am335x_evm
variants (am335x_evm, am335x_evm_uart[1-5], am335x_evm_spiboot),
where there is actual content in output section .u_boot_list.
This commit keeps all u-boot.bin and u-boot-spl.bin in ARM targets
byte-identical.

The command declaration now uses the new LG-array method to generate
list of commands. Thus the __u_boot_cmd section is now superseded and
redundant and therefore can be removed. Also, remove externed symbols
associated with this section from include/command.h .

This patch adds SPL support for SPEAr600. Currently only SNOR
(Serial NOR) flash support is included. Other boot devices
(NAND, MMC, USB ...) may be added with later patches.
Tested on the STM SPEAr600 evaluation and x600 SPEAr600 boards.

The top level Makefile does not do any recursion into subdirs when
cleaning, so these clean/distclean targets in random arch/board dirs
never get used. Punt them all.
MAKEALL didn't report any errors related to this that I could see.

In some circumstances, reset_timer_masked() was called be timer_init() in
order to perform architecture specific timer initialisation. In such
cases, the required code in reset_timer_masked() has been moved into
timer_init()
Reuse the gd->tbl value for timestamp and add gd->lastinc for lastinc bss
values in the arm926ejs timers implementation.
The usage of bss values in drivers before initialisation of bss is forbidden.
In that special case some data in .rel.dyn gets corrupted.
This patch is similiar to the patch Dirk Behme posted
for the armv7/omap-common/timer.c and added suggestions
from Reinhard Meyer.

Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols
found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of
binutils. As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not
extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols".
This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead
of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in
linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended.
This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function
cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is
inspired.
The name of each former library archive is preserved except for
extensions which change from ".a" to ".o". This commit updates
references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker
scripts.
This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but
include source files that depend these disabled features in the build,
resulting in undefined symbols. Known such cases include:
- disabling CMD_NET but not CMD_NFS;
- enabling CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT but not CONFIG_QE.
