On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have
CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current
values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers.
I did not attempt to add more default values in and for now will leave
that to maintainers.

We first introduce CONFIG_USE_BOOTCOMMAND, similar to
CONFIG_USE_BOOTARGS. We then migrate CONFIG_BOOTCOMMAND for most
CONFIG_DISTRO_DEFAULT users. In some cases platforms have a complex
scheme around this usage, and these have been defered for the moment so
that platform maintainers can work on a migration plan.

Provide a Kconfig option that we can use as dependency for
features that are broken. This allows to easily disable them
without removing the code.

Up to now we depended on an exported variable to build u-boot.rom.
We should be able to specify it in the configuration file, too.
With this patch this becomes possible using the new Kconfig option
CONFIG_BUILD_ROM.
This option depends on CONFIG_X86 and is selected in
qemu-x86_defconfig and qemu-x86_64_defconfig.

On case-insensitive file systems we have collision between
scripts/kconfig/ directory and scripts/Kconfig file. This patch moves

The (upstream) changes to break up SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN for the full
U-Boot and the SPL stage, break TPL (if simple malloc is enabled in
TPL).
This adds support for a TPL-variant of SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN:

- rewrites a test for CONFIG_SPL_SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN to access

Some platforms have very limited SRAM to run SPL code, so there may
not be the same amount space for a malloc pool before relocation in
the SPL stage as the normal U-Boot stage.
Make SPL and (the full) U-Boot stage use independent SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN,
so the size of pre-relocation malloc pool can be configured memory
space independently.

Commit 94e3c8c4fd ("crypto/fsl - Add progressive hashing support
using hardware acceleration.") created entries for CONFIG_SHA1,
CONFIG_SHA256, CONFIG_SHA_HW_ACCEL, and CONFIG_SHA_PROG_HW_ACCEL.
However, no defconfig has migrated to it. Complete the move by first
adding additional logic to various Kconfig files to select this when
required and then use the moveconfig tool. In many cases we can select
these because they are required to implement other drivers. We also
correct how we include the various hashing algorithms in SPL.
This commit was generated as follows (after Kconfig additions):

The Allwinner SoCs with 64-bit cores use an ARM Trusted Firmware binary,
which needs to be loaded alongside U-Boot proper.
Set the respective Kconfig options to let them select this feature and
also automatically build the FIT image.

Some platforms require more complex U-Boot images than we can easily
generate via the mkimage command line, for instance to load additional
image files.
Introduce a CONFIG_SPL_FIT_SOURCE and CONFIG_SPL_FIT_GENERATOR symbol,
which can either hold an .its source file describing the image layout,
or, in the second case, a generator tool (script) to create such
a source file. This script gets passed the list of device tree files
from the CONFIG_OF_LIST variable.
A platform or board can define either of those in their defconfig file
to allow an easy building of such an image.

SPL_FIT obviously requires libfdt in SPL, so let Kconfig express that by
selecting SPL_OF_LIBFDT.
Also make the actual options that users want (SPL signature and SPL FIT
loading) visible in the menu and let them select the SPL_FIT as a
requirement.
Also remove the now redundant SPL_OF_LIBFDT from those Kconfigs that had
it in for the SPL FIT loading feature.

FIT images require MD5 support to verify image checksums. So far this
was expressed by defining a CPP symbol in image.h. Since MD5 is now a
first class Kconfig citizen, express that in Kconfig instead.

This feature is inspired by /proc/config.gz of Linux. In Linux,
if CONFIG_IKCONFIG is enabled, the ".config" file contents are
embedded in the kernel image. If CONFIG_IKCONFIG_PROC is also
enabled, the ".config" contents are exposed to /proc/config.gz.
Users can do "zcat /proc/config.gz" to check which config options
are enabled on the running kernel image.
The idea is almost the same here; if CONFIG_CMD_CONFIG is enabled,
the ".config" contents are compressed and saved in the U-Boot image,
then printed by the new command "config".
The usage is quite simple. Enable CONFIG_CMD_CONFIG, then run
> config
from the command line interface. The ".config" contents will be
printed on the console.
This feature increases the U-Boot image size by about 4KB (this is
mostly due to the gzip-compressed .config file). By default, it is
enabled only for Sandbox because we do not care about the memory
footprint on it. Of course, this feature is architecture agnostic,
so you can enable it on any board if the image size increase is
acceptable for you.

We convert CONFIG_PARTITION_UUIDS to Kconfig first. But in order to cleanly
update all of the config files we must also update CMD_PART and CMD_GPT to also
be in Kconfig in order to avoid complex logic elsewhere to update all of the
config files.

Use the generic "distro" boot framework to enable automatic DHCP boot.
MMC and USB are not yet implemented, so this is the only boot option.
The fdt and kernel addresses are adopted from downstream; ramdisk and
scriptaddr addresses were chosen arbitrarily.

This enables suitable commands needed for booting general purpose
Linux distribution. This is required for example if we want to use PXE
or DHCP as default boot targets, symbols no longer enabled by
config_distro_defaults.h .

Currently, CMD_PXE is forcibly enabled in config_distro_defaults.h, so
that general purpose distributions can rely on it being defined. This
header is included, under conditions or not, by various archs or
famillies of archs / SoCs.
However, it is very possible that boards based on those SoCs will not
have a physical ethernet connector at all, even if the have a MAC; for
example, the Nanopi Neo AIR (sunxi H3) does not. It is also possible
that network booting is absolutely not necessary for a device.
However, it is not possible to disable the PXE command, as it is
forcibly enabled and is non-configurable.
But it turns out we already have a config option to build a distro-ready
image, in the name of DISTRO_DEFAULTS.
Move CMD_PXE out of the hard-coded config_distro_defaults.h into a
Kconfig option, that gets selected by DISTRO_DEFAULTS when it is set.

Commit e2f88dfd2d ("libfdt: Introduce new ARCH_FIXUP_FDT option")
allows us to skip memory setup of DTB, but a problem for ARM is that
spin_table_update_dt() and psci_update_dt() are skipped as well if
CONFIG_ARCH_FIXUP_FDT is disabled.
This commit allows us to skip only fdt_fixup_memory_banks() instead
of the whole of arch_fixup_fdt(). It will be useful when we want to
use a memory node from a kernel DTB as is, but need some fixups for
Spin-Table/PSCI.

The DFU Kconfig menu entries should be part of the SPL
Kconfig file. Also avoid using the top level Makefile by
moving the config dependent build artifacts to the driver/
and driver/usb/gadget/ Makfiles.
With that, DFU can be built again in SPL if
CONFIG_SPL_DFU_SUPPORT is enabled.

Most new systems in U-Boot these days make use of the generic "distro"
framework which allows a user to have U-Boot scan for a bootable OS
on all available media types.
This patch extends the LS2080ARDB board to use that framework if the
hard coded NOR flash location does not contain a bootable image.

Traditionally the DFU support is available only
as part 2nd stage boot loader(u-boot) and DFU
is not supported in SPL.
The SPL-DFU feature is useful for boards which
does not have MMC/SD, ethernet boot mechanism
to boot the board and only has USB inteface.
This patch add DFU support in SPL with RAM
memory device support to load and execute u-boot.
And then leverage full functionality DFU in
u-boot to flash boot inital binary images to
factory or bare-metal boards to memory devices
like SPI, eMMC, MMC/SD card using USB interface.
This SPL-DFU support can be enabled through
Menuconfig->Boot Images->Enable SPL-DFU support

I took a closer look at this after the commit was applied, and found
CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN=0x2000 was too much. 8KB memory for SPL is
actually too big for some boards. Perhaps 0x800 is enough, but the
situation varies board by board.
Let's postpone our decision until we come up with a better idea.

If both SPL_DM and SPL_OF_CONTROL are enabled, SPL needs to bind
several devices, but CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN=0x400 is apparently
not enough. Increase the default to 0x2000 for the case. This
will be helpful for shorter defconfigs.

The 'bootz' command is really only for ARM32 Linux Kernel 'zImage' files
but has also been adapted for testing with sandbox. Given that sandbox
is a test platform, don't add that logic under DISTRO_DEFAULTS.

an image data artifact. This might be desired to do things like strip
headers or footers attached to the images before they were packaged into
the FIT, or to perform operations such as decryption or authentication.
Introduce new configuration option CONFIG_FIT_IMAGE_POST_PROCESS to
allow controlling this feature. If enabled, a platform-specific post-
process function must be provided.

We need to ensure that CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT is configured via Kconfig so
that it is always available to the build system. Otherwise we can run
into cases where we have inconsistent sizes of certain attributes.
Ravi Babu reported offset mismatch of struct dwc3 across files since
commit 95ebc253e6 ("types.h: move and redefine resource_size_t").
Since the commit, resource_addr_t points to phys_addr_t, whose size
is dependent on CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT for ARM architecture.
I tried my best to use "select" where possible (for example, ARMv8
architecture) because I think this kind of option is generally user-
unconfigurable. However, I see some of PowerPC boards have 36BIT
defconfigs as well as 32BIT ones. I moved CONFIG_PHYS_64BIT to the
defconfigs for such boards.
CONFIG_36BIT is no longer referenced, so all of the defines were
removed from CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_OPTIONS.

DISTRO_DEFAULTS is intended to mirror / replace
include/config_distro_defaults.h.
The intend is for boards which include this file to select this from
their Kconfig files and when moving setting to Kconfig which are #define-ed
in config_distro_defaults.h to select this from DISTRO_DEFAULTS so that
boards which have selected DISTRO_DEFAULTS will keep the same configuration
as before without needing any defconfig file changes.
The initial list of selected things matches all settings recently removed
from config_distro_defaults.h because they have been converted to Kconfig,
with the exception of CMD_ELF and CMD_NET, which have a default of y, if
the default of these ever changes they should be selected by DISTRO_DEFAULTS
too.
For testing and example purposes this commit also converts ARCH_SUNXI
to use DISTRO_DEFAULT instead of selecting everything it needs itself.

This allows a board to configure verified boot within the SPL using
a FIT or FIT with external data. It also allows the SPL to perform
signature verification without needing relocation.

This provides a way to load a FIT containing U-Boot and a selection of device
tree files. The board can select the correct device tree by probing the
hardware. Then U-Boot is started with the selected device tree.

There are already two FIT options in Kconfig but the CONFIG options are
still in the header files. We need to do a proper move to fix this.

Unfortunately the first one is a little complicated. We need to make sure
this option is not enabled in SPL by this change. Also this option is
enabled automatically in the host builds by defining CONFIG_FIT in the
image.h file. To solve this, add a new IMAGE_USE_FIT #define which can
be used in files that are built on the host but must also build for U-Boot
and SPL.
Note: Masahiro's moveconfig.py script is amazing.

There are a lot of unrelated files in common, including all of the commands.
Moving them into their own directory makes them easier to find and is more
logical.
Some commands include non-command code, such as cmd_scsi.c. This should be
sorted out at some point so that the function can be enabled with or without
the associated command.
Unfortunately, with m68k I get this error:

For historical reason, CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE has been specified
in various ways:
[1] by board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/config.mk
[2] by CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_OPTIONS
(This was "options" field of boards.cfg before Kconfig conversion)
[3] by include/configs/${BOARD}.h
[4] by configs/${BOARD}_defconfig
Most of M68K boards use either [1] or [2], both of which we want to
deprecate. Switch them into [4], which is the newest way (Kconfig).
We still allow [3] too, because it is still used by many boards and
we expect much time for conversion.

At present in SPL we place the device tree immediately after BSS. This
avoids needing to copy it out of the way before BSS can be used. However on
some boards BSS is not placed with the image - e.g. it can be in RAM if
available.
Add an option to tell U-Boot that the device tree should be placed at the
end of the image binary (_image_binary_end) instead of at the end of BSS.
Note: A common reason to place BSS in RAM is to support the FAT filesystem.
We should update the code so that it does not use so much BSS.

malloc_simple uses a part of the stack as heap, initially it uses
SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN bytes which typically is quite small as the initial
stacks sits in SRAM and we do not have that much SRAM to work with.
When DRAM becomes available we may switch the stack from SRAM to DRAM
to give use more room. This commit adds support for also switching to
a new bigger malloc_simple heap located in the new stack.
Note that this requires spl_init to be called before spl_relocate_stack_gd
which in practice means that spl_init must be called from board_init_f.

common/dlmalloc.c is quite big, both in .text and .data usage, therefor
on some boards the SPL is build to use only malloc_simple.c and not the
dlmalloc.c code. This is done in various include/configs/foo.h with the
following construct:

This commit introduces a SPL_MALLOC_SIMPLE Kconfig bool which allows
selecting this functionality through Kconfig instead.

When U-Boot runs as an EFI application is does not have a definition of
CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE. U-Boot is a relocatable application and the relocation
is done by EFI. U-Boot can be loaded at any address.
Ensure that this CONFIG option is not set in this case.

Currently all x86 boards still use CONFIG_SYS_EXTRA_OPTIONS to define
the text base address. Since it is deprecated, just remove it and use
CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE directly.

make the CPU clock selectable via Kconfig
this removes the sunxi specific CONFIG_CLK_FULL_SPEED defined in each
soc header and replaces it's use in board/sunxi/board.c with
CONFIG_SYS_CLK_FREQ from Kconfig which allows us to configure board
specific frequency on boot

This option has a bool type, not hex.
Fix it and enable it if CONFIG_DM is on because Driver Model always
requires malloc memory. Devices are scanned twice, before/after
relocation. CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_F should be enabled to use malloc
memory before relocation. As it is board-independent, handle it
globally.

This commit introduces new config: CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_CLEAR_ON_INIT.
This config is an expert option and is enabled by default.
The all amount of memory reserved for the malloc, is by default set
to zero in mem_malloc_init(). When the malloc reserved memory exceeds
few MiB, then the boot process can slow down.
So disabling this config, is an expert option to reduce the boot time,
and can be disabled by Kconfig.
Note:
After disable this option, only calloc() will return the pointer
to the zeroed memory area. Previously, without this option,
the memory pointed to untouched malloc memory region, was filled
with zeros. So it means, that code with malloc() calls should
be reexamined.

At present SPL uses a single stack, either CONFIG_SPL_STACK or
CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR. Since some SPL features (such as MMC and
environment) require a lot of stack, some boards set CONFIG_SPL_STACK to
point into SDRAM. They then set up SDRAM very early, before board_init_f(),
so that the larger stack can be used.
This is an abuse of lowlevel_init(). That function should only be used for
essential start-up code which cannot be delayed. An example of a valid use is
when only part of the SPL code is visible/executable, and the SoC must be set
up so that board_init_f() can be reached. It should not be used for SDRAM
init, console init, etc.
Add a CONFIG_SPL_STACK_R option, which allows the stack to be moved to a new
address before board_init_r() is called in SPL.
The expected SPL flow (for CONFIG_SPL_FRAMEWORK) is documented in the README.

When Kconfig for U-boot was examined, one of the biggest issues was
how to support multiple images (Normal, SPL, TPL). There were
actually two options, "single .config" and "multiple .config".
After some discussions and thought experiments, I chose the latter,
i.e. to create ".config", "spl/.config", "tpl/.config" for Normal,
SPL, TPL, respectively.
It is true that the "multiple .config" strategy provided us the
maximum flexibility and helped to avoid duplicating CONFIGs among
Normal, SPL, TPL, but I have noticed some fatal problems:
[1] It is impossible to share CONFIG options across the images.
If you change the configuration of Main image, you often have to
adjust some SPL configurations correspondingly. Currently, we
cannot handle the dependencies between them. It means one of the
biggest advantages of Kconfig is lost.
[2] It is too painful to change both ".config" and "spl/.config".
Sunxi guys started to work around this problem by creating a new
configuration target. Commit cbdd9a9737 (sunxi: kconfig: Add
%_felconfig rule to enable FEL build of sunxi platforms.) added
"make *_felconfig" to enable CONFIG_SPL_FEL on both images.
Changing the configuration of multiple images in one command is a
generic demand. The current implementation cannot propose any
good solution about this.
[3] Kconfig files are getting ugly and difficult to understand.
Commit b724bd7d63 (dm: Kconfig: Move CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_F_LEN to
Kconfig) has sprinkled "if !SPL_BUILD" over the Kconfig files.
[4] The build system got more complicated than it should be.
To adjust Linux-originated Kconfig to U-Boot, the helper script
"scripts/multiconfig.sh" was introduced. Writing a complicated
text processor is a shell script sometimes caused problems.
Now I believe the "single .config" will serve us better. With it,
all the problems above would go away. Instead, we will have to add
some CONFIG_SPL_* (and CONFIG_TPL_*) options such as CONFIG_SPL_DM,
but we will not have much. Anyway, this is what we do now in
scripts/Makefile.spl.
I admit my mistake with my apology and this commit switches to the
single .config configuration.
It is not so difficult to do that:
- Remove unnecessary processings from scripts/multiconfig.sh
This file will remain for a while to support the current defconfig
format. It will be removed after more cleanups are done.
- Adjust some makefiles and Kconfigs
- Add some entries to include/config_uncmd_spl.h and the new file
scripts/Makefile.uncmd_spl. Some CONFIG options that are not
supported on SPL must be disabled because one .config is shared
between SPL and U-Boot proper going forward. I know this is not
a beautiful solution and I think we can do better, but let's see
how much we will have to describe them.

At present defaults in arch-specific Kconfig files are ignored if the
top-level item comes ahead of it in include order. This means that it is
not possible to have a U-Boot default that architectures and boards can
override. This does not seem very useful.
Move the include earlier to support this.

For FIT signature based approach to work, RSA library needs to be selected.
The FIT_SIGNATURE option in Kconfig is modified to automatically select RSA.
Selecting RSA compiles the RSA library required for image verification.

It makes sense to specify CONFIG_SYS_CLK_FREQ in "configs/xx_defconfig"
instead of "include/configs/xxx.h" because then header will be reusable
across boards with different CPU clocks.
Also this nice to have an ability for end user to tune this value
himself via "menuconfig".
For now I'm only applying this change to all ARC configs because
otherwise scope of change will be huge.

Defining CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE in config.mk is very old style.
Create CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE option in Kconfig, but let it
depend on CONFIG_SPARC because we do not want to disturb
the other architectures that still define CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE
in their header files.

CONFIG_DEFCONFIG_LIST specifies the default defconfig.
It is used by "make savedefconfig" when .config is missing.
But that's it. I could not find other useful cases.
As a side effect, CONFIG_DEFCONFIG_LIST="configs/sandbox_defconfig"
is contained in .config of every target board, which some people
think is odd. So, let's remove it.
