NEKOPARA vol.1

This game is going to sell like hotcakes. Why?

Anyone who has ever searched for catgirls on Google images or just about anywhere else has seen Vanilla and Chocolat before. Up until now the were not in any games or media other than the Sayori Neko Works website. A game was LONG overdue.

Now that it's finally here, this is going to explode like the McRib Sandwich. Like the Seafood Sensation sub at Subway. Like The Interview movie. It's on Steam getting tons of downloads. This game is going to be HUGE, if only because everyone into moe art and catgirls has SEEN these two before and wanted them -- in various meanings of the word.

NEKOPARA delivers. Vanilla and Chocolat convincingly pull off the traits of cats -- cuddling with each other and goshujin-sama, being annoyingly clingy, attacking toys, devouring food -- while doing their best to fit into human society. There are some glaringly obvious holes in the story (why not catboys? and why do they have sex like humans but can't get pregnant?) but the point isn't for that to make sense, rather just to fill you with feel-good catgirl moe.

The H scenes are splendidly animated just like the rest of the day-to-day scenes in the game, and the animation itself thanks to the E-MOTE engine is really fantastic. The quality may as well be hand-drawn, while the mouths, eyes, and motions all line right up perfectly with the voice acting. The seiyuu do a really great job and the lines are voiced without any sort of "in a box" or other environmental echo artifacts for those of you with good headphones. Just the voice, plain and simple. Even the color and font of the text is "bacchiri".

I'm probably one of the most guilty when it comes to holding Ctrl through the majority of eroge, and never once have I replayed a game after clearing the heroine's route I wanted. This is the first game where I could play it multiple times and still enjoy it.

For it to impress me says something. Buy it!

I have been following Sayori Neko Works for like, 5 years now? When I heard that a game is coming out, I was already hyped, then the demo came out and I heard Chocola's and Vanilla's voice, my heart melted into million pieces, overall, this game is a beacon of love from catgirl heaven, if you love catgirls, this game is, like, totally for you! The animation is great, watching the main characters, "come to life" feels like a nice pace of change from all the other stoic visual novels, there's a lot of comedy, "easter eggs" if you may call those, I really enjoyed this piece, would recommend to my best friends.

Nekopara is a GREAT game that should easily get you engrossed, even if you're not a person that likes cat girls. For a long time, Sayori has had very nicely detailed pictures. Some of those pictures are of the two main characters of this work: Chocolat and Vanilla. Those two Nekomimis are some very popular characters, even outside of Japan.

There's a lot to like about this game, the well done personalities of the girls (ranging from clingy to stingy like actual cats, to happy and jovial), the well done animation of the game, including the H scenes, the voice acting which is superb, and the replay ability of the entire game.

If you know Sayori and or like cat girls, pick this game up, Even if you don't, pick it up.

I totally enjoyed Nekopara Volume 1. So much so that I purchased the other two volumes as well. The visual novel has a very good set of tools that give you a lot of control over how it displays and works - bounciness, text display speed, text display time, etc., that add a lot to the story. The graphics and artwork are outstanding, and the story line is charming and entertaining. What makes this an outstanding work, though, are the voice actors. Each one brings her character to life through their energy and emotion. Even the "G" rated versions available on Steam, without the X-rated scenes, are very good. But you won't want to miss those, so either purchase the full X-rated versions on DL Site, or the Steam add-on packs to get the full versions. Of course, if you purchase on Steam you get the trading cards, if you're into that sort of thing.

Well, what else is there to be said that hasn't been covered in the other glowing reviews? Nekopara is an excellent, professionally made visual novel. Everything about the game screams pure quality; the character art and designs are stellar, the music and voice acting are outstanding, and the English translation is one of the best I've ever seen, being really accurate and well written. The E-mote system is a great addition, and the adorable animations will make you fall in love with the characters even more. Very highly recommended!

NEKOPARA vol.1 is the first installment of the Visual Novel turned Nekopara Franchise. It tells a heartwarming story about Catgirls and their Master.
If you are interested in a light, heartwarming story without much drama and surprises, then Nekopara is the right choice.

The story-telling is as adorable as the characterdesign and with the E-mote System the cuteness is taken to a whole new level! Now they are moving according to their emotions.

I really enjoyed the story because of these features and because I like light stories in general.
So if you think my above stated points are appealing to you: PICK IT UP!
The Catgirls are waiting, nyaa~
