As part of moving the parsing of command line arguments to do_bootefi()
call efi_install_fdt() with the address of the device tree instead of a
string.
If the address is EFI_FDT_USE_INTERNAL (= 0), the internal device tree
is used.

At present these two functions are defined in efi_loader.h but only if
CONFIG_EFI_LOADER is enabled. But these are functions that are useful to
other code, such as that which deals with Intel Handoff Blocks (HOBs).
Move these to the top of the function.
Possibly ascii2unicode() should not be an inline function, since this
might impact code size.

Sandbox's "host" devices are currently described as UCLASS_ROOT udevice
with DEV_IF_HOST block device. As the current implementation of
efi_device_path doesn't support such a type, any "host" device
on sandbox cannot be seen as a distinct object.

As you can see here, efi_root (0x0000000015c19970) and host0 device
(0x0000000015c19d70) have the same representation of device path.
This is not only inconvenient, but also confusing since two different
efi objects are associated with the same device path and
efi_dp_find_obj() will possibly return a wrong result.
Solution:
Each "host" device should be given an additional device path node
of "vendor device path" to make it distinguishable.

Adding a conventional memory region to the memory map may require ram_top
limitation and it can be also commonly used. Extract adding a conventional
memory to the memory map in a separate routine for generic use.

We currently have some inconsistent use of efi_add_memory_map()
throughout the code. In particular the return value of efi_add_memory_map()
is not interpreted the same way by various users in the codebase.
This patch does the following:
- Changes efi_add_memory_map() to return efi_status_t.
- Adds a method description to efi_add_memory_map().
- Changes efi_add_memory_map() to return EFI_SUCCESS
- Returns non-zero for error in efi_add_memory_map()
- Updates efi_allocate_pages() to new efi_add_memory_map()
- Updates efi_free_pages() to new efi_add_memory_map()
- Updates efi_carve_out_dt_rsv() to new efi_add_memory_map()
- Updates efi_add_runtime_mmio() to new efi_add_memory_map()

Linux can be called with a command line parameter efi=novamap, cf.
commit 4e46c2a95621 ("efi/arm/arm64: Allow SetVirtualAddressMap() to be
omitted"). In this case SetVirtualAddressMap() is not called after
ExitBootServices().
OpenBSD 32bit does not call SetVirtualAddressMap() either.
Runtime services must be set to an implementation supported at runtime
in ExitBootServices().

Our variable services are only provided at boottime. Therefore when
leaving boottime the variable function are replaced by dummy functions
returning EFI_UNSUPPORTED. Move this patching of the runtime table to the
variable services implementation. Executed it in ExitBootServices().

Up to now we have only been using a flag queued for events. But this does
not satisfy the requirements of the UEFI spec. Events must be notified in
the sequence of decreasing TPL level and within a TPL level in the sequence
of signaling.
Implement a queue for signaled events.

ExitBootServices() has to stop timer related activity before calling the
events of the EFI_EVENT_GROUP_EXIT_BOOT_SERVICES event group. But our
current implementation was stopping all other events.
All events have to observe the task priority level.

When a protocol is installed the handle should be queued for the
registration key of each registered event. LocateHandle() should return the
first handle from the queue for the registration key and delete it from the
queue.
Implement the queueing.
Correct the selftest.
With the patch the UEFI SCT tests for LocateHandle() are passed without
failure.

In EFI 1.10 a version of the Unicode collation protocol using ISO 639-2
language codes existed. This protocol is not part of the UEFI specification
any longer. Unfortunately it is required to run the UEFI Self Certification
Test (SCT) II, version 2.6, 2017. So we implement it here for the sole
purpose of running the SCT. It can be removed once a compliant SCT is
available.

The field boot OptionalData in structure _EFI_LOAD_OPTIONS is for binary
data.
When we use `efidebug boot add` we should convert the 5th argument from
UTF-8 to UTF-16 before putting it into the BootXXXX variable.
When printing boot variables with `efidebug boot dump` we should support
the OptionalData being arbitrary binary data. So let's dump the data as
hexadecimal values.

In the current implementation, bootefi command and EFI boot manager
don't use load_image API, instead, use more primitive and internal
functions. This will introduce duplicated code and potentially
unknown bugs as well as inconsistent behaviours.
With this patch, do_efibootmgr() and do_boot_efi() are completely
overhauled and re-implemented using load_image API.

Currently, image's image_base points to an address where the image was
temporarily uploaded for further loading. Since efi_loader relocates
the image to final destination, image_base and image_size should reflect
that.
This bug was detected in UEFI SCT, "Loaded Image Protocol Test - test 2,"
which shows that 'Unload' function doesn't fit into a range suggested by
image_base and image_size.

Up to now efi_load_pe() returns the entry point or NULL in case of an
error. This does not allow to return correct error codes from LoadImage().
Let efi_load_pe() return a status code and fill in the entry point in the
corresponding field of the image object.

If we want to properly unload images in Exit() the memory should always be
allocated in the same way. As we allocate memory when reading from file we
should do the same when the original image is in memory.
A further patch will be needed to free the memory when Exit() is called.

The function, efi_init_obj_list(), can be shared in different pseudo efi
applications, like bootefi/bootmgr as well as my efishell. Moreover, it
will be utilized to extend efi initialization, for example, my "removable
disk support" patch and "capsule-on-disk support" patch in the future.
So with this patch, it will be moved to a new file, efi_setup.c, under
lib/efi_loader and exported, making no changes in functionality.

Create the handle of loaded images and the EFI_LOADED_IMAGE_PROTOCOL
inside efi_setup_loaded_image(). Do not use local variables.
Currently we expect the loaded image handle to point to the loaded image
protocol. Additionally we have appended private fields to the protocol.
With the patch the handle points to a loaded image object and the private
fields are added here. This matches how we handle the net and the gop
object.

Currently we assign a lot of protocols to loaded images though
these protocols are not related to them. Instead they should be
installed on a separate handle. Via the device path it is the
parent to the devices like the network adapter.

The system table contains a link to the list of configurations tables.
These include the device tree, SMBIOS table, and the ACPI table.
This array is currently statically linked. With the patch it is allocated
as EFI_RUNTIME_SERVICES_DATA. Due to the structure of the system table we
cannot work with a linked list here.

Some times gcc may generate data that is then used within code that may
be part of an efi runtime section. That data could be jump tables,
constants or strings.
In order to make sure we catch these, we need to ensure that gcc emits
them into a section that we can relocate together with all the other
efi runtime bits. This only works if the -ffunction-sections and
-fdata-sections flags are passed and the efi runtime functions are
in a section that starts with ".text".
Up to now we had all efi runtime bits in sections that did not
interfere with the normal section naming scheme, but this forces
us to do so. Hence we need to move the efi_loader text/data/rodata
sections before the global *(.text*) catch-all section.
With this patch in place, we should hopefully have an easier time
to extend the efi runtime functionality in the future.

We were using our EFI_CACHELINE_SIZE define only in the runtime service
code, but left the image loader to use plain CONFIG_SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE.
This patch moves EFI_CACHELINE_SIZE into efi_loader.h and converts
the image loader to use it.

Device paths may consist of multiple instances. Up to now we have only
considered the size of the first instance. For the services of the
EFI_DEVICE_PATH_UTILITIES_PROTOCOL in most cases the total length of the
device path is relevant.
So let's rename efi_dp_size() to efi_dp_instance_size() and create a new
function efi_dp_size() that calculates the total device path length.

Introduce functions to print information about loaded images.
If we want to analyze an exception in an EFI image we need the offset
between the PC and the start of the loaded image.
With efi_print_image_info() we can print the necessary information for a
single image, e.g.
UEFI image [0xbffe6000:0xbffe631f] pc=0x138 '/\snp.efi'
efi_print_image_infos() provides output for all loaded images.

Implement the information type EFI_FILE_SYSTEM_INFO in the service
GetInfo() of the EFI_FILE_PROTOCOL.
The volume label is not available in U-Boot. As a work-around use the
partition name instead.

If an event of a group event is signaled all other events of the same
group are signaled too.
Function efi_signal_event is renamed to efi_queue_event.
A new function efi_signal_event is introduced that checks if an event
belongs to a group and than signals all events of the group.
Event group notifciation is implemented for ExitBootServices,
InstallConfigurationTable, and ResetSystem.

Event groups are used to signal multiple events at the same time.
They are identified by GUIDs. This patch provided the predefined
GUIDs of UEFI specification 2.7.

Lift the limit on the number of events by using a linked list.
This also allows to have events with type == 0.

The second argument of the bootefi command should always be usable to
specify a device tree. This was missing for bootefi selftest and
bootefi hello.

initialization of the EFI subsystem. Errors should be caught and
signalled by a return code.

efi_disk_register should return as status code (efi_status_t).
Disks with zero blocks should be reported as 'not ready' without throwing
an error.
This patch solves a problem running OpenBSD on system configured with
CONFIG_BLK=n (e.g. i.MX6).

Change the return type of efi_driver_init() to efi_status_t.
efi_driver_init() calls efi_add_driver() which returns an efi_status_t
value. efi_driver_init() should not subject this value to a conversion to
int losing high bits on 64bit systems.

This patch provides
* a uclass for EFI drivers
* a EFI driver for block devices
For each EFI driver the uclass
* creates a handle
* adds the driver binding protocol
The uclass provides the bind, start, and stop entry points for the driver
binding protocol.
In bind() and stop() it checks if the controller implements the protocol
supported by the EFI driver. In the start() function it calls the bind()
function of the EFI driver. In the stop() function it destroys the child
controllers.
The EFI block driver binds to controllers implementing the block io
protocol.
When the bind function of the EFI block driver is called it creates a
new U-Boot block device. It installs child handles for all partitions and
installs the simple file protocol on these.
The read and write functions of the EFI block driver delegate calls to the
controller that it is bound to.
A usage example is as following:
U-Boot loads the iPXE snp.efi executable. iPXE connects an iSCSI drive and
exposes a handle with the block IO protocol. It calls ConnectController.
Now the EFI block driver installs the partitions with the simple file
protocol.
iPXE uses the simple file protocol to load Grub or the Linux Kernel.

TPL level. A new parameter check_tpl is added to efi_signal_event().
Function efi_console_timer_notify() gets some comments.

On a block device and its partitions the same protocols can be
installed. To tell the apart we can use the type of the last
node of the device path which is not the end node.
The patch provides a utility function to find this last node.

Up to now we have been using efi_disk_create_partitions() to create
partitions for block devices that existed before starting an EFI
application.
We need to call it for block devices created by EFI
applications at run time. The EFI application will define the
handle for the block device and install a device path protocol
on it. We have to use this device path as stem for the partition
device paths.

For the construction of device paths we need to call the
AllocatePool service. We should not ignore if it fails due to an
out of memory situation.
This patch changes the device path functions to return NULL if
the memory allocation fails.
Additional patches will be needed to fix the callers.

When a device path protocol is installed write the device
path to the console in debug mode.
For printing the new macro EFI_PRINT is used, which can be reused
for future diagnostic output.

To avoid duplicate coding provide a helper function that
initializes an EFI object and adds it to the EFI object
list.
efi_exit() is the only place where we dereference a handle
to obtain a protocol interface. Add a comment to the function.

Use helper functions efi_created_handle and efi_add_protocol
for creating the console handles and instaling the respective
protocols.
This change is needed if we want to move from an array of
protocols to a linked list of protocols.
Eliminate EFI_PROTOCOL_OBJECT which is not used anymore.
Currently we have not defined protocol interfaces to be const.
So efi_con_out and efi_console_control cannot be defined as const.
