[CAUSE] This is because we're calling btrfs_join_transaction() without re-using the current running one: btrfs_finish_ordered_io() |- btrfs_join_transaction() <<< Call #1 |- btrfs_record_root_in_trans() |- btrfs_reserve_extent() |- btrfs_join_transaction() <<< Call #2 Normally such btrfs_join_transaction() call should re-use the existing one, without trying to re-start a transaction. But the problem is, in btrfs_join_transaction() call #1, we call btrfs_record_root_in_trans() before initializing current::journal_info. And in btrfs_join_transaction() call #2, we're relying on current::journal_info to avoid such deadlock. [FIX] Call btrfs_record_root_in_trans() after we have initialized current::journal_info. There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
