Anirudh Rayabharam 9e38cf9c30 net: stmicro: handle clk_prepare() failure during init
commit 0c32a96d000f260b5ebfabb4145a86ae1cd71847 upstream.

In case clk_prepare() fails, capture and propagate the error code up the
stack. If regulator_enable() was called earlier, properly unwind it by
calling regulator_disable().

Greg Kroah-Hartman 1cb9f88cde Revert "net: stmicro: fix a missing check of clk_prepare"
commit bee1b0511844c8c79fccf1f2b13472393b6b91f7 upstream.

This reverts commit f86a3b8383.

Because of recent interactions with developers from @umn.edu, all
commits from them have been recently re-reviewed to ensure if they were
correct or not.

Upon review, this commit was found to be incorrect for the reasons
below, so it must be reverted. It will be fixed up "correctly" in a
later kernel change.

The original commit causes a memory leak when it is trying to claim it
is properly handling errors. Revert this change and fix it up properly
in a follow-on commit.

Florian Fainelli 4f2fb2a199 net: stmmac: dwmac-sunxi: Provide TX and RX fifo sizes
[ Upstream commit 806fd188ce2a4f8b587e83e73c478e6484fbfa55 ]

After commit bfcb813203e619a8960a819bf533ad2a108d8105 ("net: dsa:
configure the MTU for switch ports") my Lamobo R1 platform which uses
an allwinner,sun7i-a20-gmac compatible Ethernet MAC started to fail
by rejecting a MTU of 1536. The reason for that is that the DMA
capabilities are not readable on this version of the IP, and there
is also no 'tx-fifo-depth' property being provided in Device Tree. The
property is documented as optional, and is not provided.

Chen-Yu indicated that the FIFO sizes are 4KB for TX and 16KB for RX, so
provide these values through platform data as an immediate fix until
various Device Tree sources get updated accordingly.

[ Upstream commit 52cc73e5404c7ba0cbfc50cb4c265108c84b3d5a ]

Allow all the RGMII modes to be used. This would allow us to represent
the hardware better in the device tree with RGMII_ID where in most
cases the PHY's internal delay for both RX and TX are used.

Johan Hovold d2ed0a7755 net: ethernet: stmmac: fix of-node and fixed-link-phydev leaks
Make sure to deregister and free any fixed-link phy registered during
probe on probe errors and on driver unbind by adding a new glue helper
function.

Drop the of-node reference taken in the same path also on late probe
errors (and not just on driver unbind) by moving the put from
stmmac_dvr_remove() to the new helper.

Chen-Yu Tsai d856c16d8a stmmac: dwmac-sunxi: Call exit cleanup function in probe error path
dwmac-sunxi has 2 callbacks that were called from stmmac_platform as
part of the probe and remove sequences.

Ater the conversion of dwmac-sunxi into a standalone platform driver,
the .init function is called before calling into the stmmac driver
core, but .exit is not called to clean up if stmmac returns an error.

This patch fixes the probe error path. This properly cleans up and
releases resources when the driver core fails to probe.

Chen-Yu Tsai af0bd4e9ba net: stmmac: sunxi platform extensions for GMAC in Allwinner A20 SoC's
The Allwinner A20 has an ethernet controller that seems to be
an early version of Synopsys DesignWare MAC 10/100/1000 Universal,
which is supported by the stmmac driver.

Allwinner's GMAC requires setting additional registers in the SoC's
clock control unit.

The exact version of the DWMAC IP that Allwinner uses is unknown,
thus the exact feature set is unknown.
